We run a canoe and kayak rental with guest apartments on the Dalsland Canal in Bengtsfors, Sweden – with a focus on quality over quantity. Our guests come mainly from Germany, the Netherlands and Scandinavia and choose us because they want a thoughtful outdoor experience, not mass tourism. That shows in our reviews – and in what it feels like to work here.

We’re looking for summer staff who want to take responsibility, work independently, and give our guests an experience that stands out. You don’t need to know how to paddle – but you should enjoy talking to people, take initiative, and hold yourself to a high standard.

Your tasks

You’ll work across a broad range of tasks. A typical day might include welcoming guests at the rental station, helping with tour instructions and equipment briefings, preparing and checking boats, managing bookings and payments, keeping the station and guest rooms in top shape, and handling basic maintenance around the property. It’s physical outdoor work combined with guest-facing service.

What we’re looking for

  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You speak fluent English. Swedish or German is a strong plus
  • You’re comfortable approaching and talking to new people
  • You see what needs to be done without being told
  • You can work Saturdays between 8:00 and 14:00. Other hours are flexible and agreed together
  • The core period is June to August, but starting as early as May or extending into September is possible. Shorter commitments within the season work too – but we prioritise applicants who can stay longer
